Freshman Academy

Students entering high school need more support to understand how to successfully navigate courses and credit requirements. Our Freshman Academy was built to help students achieve their potential and have a strong start for graduating on time.

Freshman Academy will have a dedicated team of teachers who will be working as a team to support individual students as well as advisors who work to ensure new students understand the online learning platform, and notify parents/guardians when students are falling behind.

Regular “live” classes are held in a block schedule to allow students to:

  • Focus on fewer classes throughout the day.
  • Have additional homework help time with their teachers and special education support.
  • Get caught up if they fall behind.
  • Have more flexibility in their day when they are meeting course requirements.

Weekly Homeroom and Counselor sessions to:

  • Support students’ social and emotional needs.
  • Form friendships and provide social time.
  • Provide important resources to ensure students understand graduation requirements, their personal progress towards graduation, and individual goals.
  • Understand career, dual enrollment and post-graduation opportunities.
