The HVAM experience is designed to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, shaping them into active, strong, and productive members of society through:

  • A rigorous, personally relevant curriculum that engages students in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Partnerships with postsecondary institutions across Michigan.
  • Hands-on career days and workshops to expose students to real-world opportunities.
  • An annual speaker series featuring professionals from a variety of industries.

Our vision centers on creating an enriched online and offline learning environment that delivers core curriculum, engaging electives, world languages, and AP® courses. Certified, experienced teachers collaborate closely with Learning Coaches (typically parents, guardians, or a caring adult chosen by the family) to provide targeted instructional support. In addition, extended support services and community partnerships further enhance student achievement.

HVAM is committed to offering a powerful, effective model for public education that meets the unique needs of each student and family, ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential while adhering to Michigan Academic Standards.
