Who We Are
Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM), an online public school authorized by the Mesick Consolidated Schools in grades K–9, offers Michigan students an exceptional learning experience. With individualized learning approaches, HVAM will provide the tools students need to succeed—in school and beyond.
HVAM is the newest high-quality online education program in the state of Michigan. The key to our online school is the combination of deeply individualized learning and flexible scheduling, delivered through:
- The K12 curriculum, which covers the core subject areas and electives. In the elementary years, the curriculum is mastery based and packages high-quality lessons with frequent assessments that ensure students are absorbing the material and concepts. In middle school and high school, students complete lessons in synchronous and asynchronous sessions and are expected to complete quizzes, tests and other assignments in a timely manner. Find out more about K12.
- Our experienced Michigan-certified teachers, who are connected to you and your student both online and by phone.
- Online planning and assessment tools and resources, and hands-on materials ranging from textbooks to telescopes, from rocks and dirt, to beautifully illustrated classic students' stories, and much more.
- A high-quality, tuition-free public education that enables a focused, personalized learning experience for each student.
While HVAM serves grades K–9 for the 2017–2018 school year, we will be serving additional grades in future years. Starting with the 2018–2019 school year, HVAM will offer tenth grade and plans to offer an additional grade each subsequent year (Grades K–11 will be available for SY19–20, and grades K–12 will be available for SY20–21).
